Emuwada's Mission

To empower people to achieve better health through non-medicinal lifestyle changes that utilize their life and cultural experiences to prevent or treat disease and optimize well-being
What Is Lifestyle Medicine?

The International Board of Lifestyle Medicine states this is an evidence-based medical specialty that uses lifestyle changes to prevent and treat chronic medical conditions.

The focus is primarily on lifestyle changes which can minimize or in some cases eliminate the need for medication.

Examples include high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, depression, obesity, sleep problems, anxiety, high cholesterol, cancer prevention, smoking, problems with weight management, menopausal issues, skin care, etc. Some people may not have any specific conditions, but want to prevent disease and feel better overall wellness.

Lifestyle Medicine interventions apply six pillars to prevent and treat disease:

Nutrition

A Health and Wellness Coach for Your Unique Life Experience

When I discovered Lifestyle Medicine, it resonated with me as the true path to health. I had been practicing in a similar way for over 15 years, but due to the changes in healthcare delivery over time, it had become a challenge not to choose the quicker and easier way with primarily medication.

When I realized the transformation making some natural healthy changes created in my life personally, I made a decision to offer the same path to my community.

My community is diverse, with people from different parts of this country or the world, with unique practices and backgrounds. Our experiences affect the way we live. Understanding and working with differences, rather than providing a standard template, leads to more successful and satisfying change.

I’ve lived and thrived in different cultures with different lifestyles and have the goal of ensuring everyone has the opportunity to experience better health and overall wellness as well.
